Venetian Interior after John Singer Sargent

John Singer Sargent is famous for his society portraits, but this one is an interior scene with venetian ladies dressed in the flowing robes he seemed to like. I loved the play of light in the dark space and how it illuminated the parts the artist wanted to show. I painted this small only 12x16 using guache on paper and left it more impressionistic as I did not want to overwork it.I was pleased with how it came out.
