The Oyster Catchers after John Singer Sargent Oil painting by Richard Whiteley John Singer Sargent is famous for his society portraits, but his landscapes are just as stunning. This one I have always admired and so I decided to try to copy it. It was very important to get the figures right, and I feel that I did that, I also loved the reflections in the wet sand , so I paid special attention to that. As always with copies of old masters I learned a lot about what they did, and this helped me with other landscapes I did later. |
