Great Falls in Summer

This picture  was painted in studio from the Virginia side of the Falls. It was a hazy summer day with the distant hills showing as blue silhouettes, the river was flowing strongly from recent heavy rains.

The patterns and colors in the rocks were especially attractive and set off the strong blue greens of the water.
