This picture  was painted on site near Syria VA and Culpepper VA. This is apple growing and wine growing country. There is a real country store at Syria opening at 6.30am for coffee, and selling everything from underwear to guns to horse leather. As I was driving around looking for likely scenes I saw this small farm.I did  a quick plein air sketch from the side of the road.
