This picture  was painted on site on the Robinson River near Syria VA and Culpepper VA. This is apple growing and wine growing country. There is a real country store at Syria opening at 6.30am for coffee, and selling everything from underwear to guns to horse leather. I painted this scene on site, almost standing in the river to get the best composition. It was a beautiful Fall day and the colours were magnificent.
